Job Summary:

The Senior Program Assistant for the Master of Engineering Management Graduate Program will have responsibility for the day-to-day functionality of program operations and student support. The scope of responsibility will include application and admission processes, recurring critical administrative operations, registration, orientation, graduation, program events, and office area reception. The Senior Program Assistant will work in close coordination with the Program Director and Program Manager to accomplish high-quality, student-centric program operations. Banner, Slate, Cognos, GradDB, Microsoft Office, Qualtrics, Ariba, and other software systems will be utilized regularly.

  • High school diploma/GED
  • A minimum of three (3) years of administrative support experience in education or industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of college students, staff, faculty, alumni, and industry partners
  • Must be highly motivated, self-initiating and a team player
  • Ability to effectively handle confidential information with discretion
  • Positivity and professionalism
  • Must be able to work independently in coordination with the supervisor and program team
  • Ability to plan ahead, anticipate needs, proactively solve problems, and pay close attention to details


  • Associate's/Bachelor's degree
  • Previous student services experience, preferably in a STEM capacity
  • Familiarity with university systems, such as Banner, Slate, Qualtrics, myPurdue, Cognos, Boiler Connect, GradDB, Ariba, Canvas, etc.

  • This was formerly classified as an operational/technical position; an internal lateral transfer will retain same benefit standing
  • Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position

  • FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible For Overtime)
