Job Description

The Department of Psychology at Providence College invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of Psychology, Clinical/Counseling.

Essential Duties

Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring of undergraduates, and a commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable teaching practices within and outside of the classroom.

Candidates should expect to teach courses in their specialty area as well as contribute to the greater psychology curriculum, and to develop a research program that actively involves undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Typical teaching load is three courses per semester with a cap of 15-25 students per class.

Education and Experience Required

Candidates should possess a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA approved program, although ABD candidates with graduation expected by August of 2022 will be considered.

Clinical area of research interest is open, though candidates who examine mental health in underrepresented populations and/or across the lifespan are especially encouraged to apply.
