Job DescriptionOwl Magazine's Technical Advisor provides technical expertise and assists the Chief Advisor and Editor of the HCC Owl Magazine. Duties include assisting with maintenance of DSLR cameras; assisting with maintenance of social media platforms; assisting with orders of technology/equipment, including camera equipment; providing feedback to students on assignments, including photo assignments; assisting the Chief Advisor and Editor with story/photo selection, proofing, and ethical concerns; and performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required EducationHigh school diploma or GED equivalent and at least six college credits.
Required ExperienceExcellent communication skills and working knowledge of DSLR camera features, Photoshop, and other relevant computer software applications. Previous experience as Owl Magazine staff member for at least one semester preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesWorking knowledge of DSLR cameras and social media platforms; strong communication skills
Preferred QualificationsExperience in media, and in particular as an Owl Magazine staff member.
Hours per Week: 20
General Weekly Work ScheduleFlexible work schedule based on the needs of the College. Final schedule to be determined by the superivsor.
