Ripon College invites applications for the position of Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance, the ideal candidate will possess broad expertise in generally accepted accounting principles, be comfortable leading and working within a collaborative environment, and value the educational mission of our small, private 4-year college. The Offices of Business and Finance at Ripon College are a close-knit team of accounting, HR, and finance professionals who work to ensure that institutional resources are being responsibly stewarded. Our team supports the working of the entire campus, and members of our team work with all campus constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni. As a leader within the Offices of Business and Finance, the Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller will benefit from the expertise and camaraderie within our team and will have the opportunity to shape the future of Business operations at the College.

The Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller is responsible for the supervision and execution of the general accounting functions of the College. The Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller supervises the staff of the Business Office and has primary responsibility for the preparation of the College’s annual financial statements, audit, and tax returns. This position participates in the day-to-day accounting operations of the College, prepares various reconciliations of the general ledger, and has responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of all aspects of the College’s finances.

The Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller is a strategic partner to the Vice President for Finance and provides financial analysis to support College planning efforts. The Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller is responsible for improving internal financial and business processes and implementing new technologies to improve efficiencies and provide better user-experiences.

A bachelor’s degree with 5 years of accounting experience is required; a CPA or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred. A successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, tax compliance, audit, and the ability to manage the chart of accounts. Expertise in technology, including Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems is required. Some supervisory experience is preferred. Accounting experience in higher education or the nonprofit sector is a plus.

Salary range: $85,000-100,000
