Richard Bland the College of William and Mary is currently seeking a highly motived individual to serve as the Director of Data Analysis & Reporting . The successful candidate contributes to data-driven decision-making that advances the College mission, vision, and strategic goals. This role is responsible for all operations related to institutional data collection, data management, analysis, and reporting; applies technical expertise in the administration of database systems and warehouses to support institutional planning, budgeting, and evaluation processes designed to fulfill the strategic priorities of the College, as well as state and federal compliance and accreditation reporting; and supervise data analysis and reporting staff, and must work collaboratively with multiple internal and external constituencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Considerable experience demonstrating database development and administration.
  • Considerable experience producing reports for decision making with SQL, Power BI, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), or similar tools.
  • Considerable experience in data warehousing principles, approaches, technologies and architectures.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience utilizing data for decision making
  • Effective interpersonal skills, strong communicator, a collaborative management style and the ability to work effectively across functional areas to achieve established goals.
  • Proficiency in analytic tools at the intermediate to advanced level with an emphasis on data acquisition, manipulation, merging, and transformation.
  • Proficiency in Excel with emphasis on formula writing, data transformation and linking.
  • Enthusiastic commitment to the Richard Bland College mission, vision and strategic goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in data science or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working in an Higher Education Institution.
  • Previous experience with Banner or other Student Information Systems (SIS) .
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the development of machine-learning models.
  • Experience with SAS or SPSS.
