Job Description

Assists in the management of a high volume market on a university campus under the direction of the Assistant Director. Responsibilities include the supervision, training, leadership and development of staff, manage inventory and menus through an automated food inventory system (FoodPro), purchasing and procurement of products and menu items, ensure safety and sanitation, and the security and maintenance of equipment and facility, and provide excellent customer service to a diverse client base.

Required Qualifications

Previous experience in a high volume food service operation, previous supervisory experience, including performance management and scheduling functions, experience with stockrooms/warehouse procedures including inventory management, receiving goods, and associated verifications/reports, previous experience with an automated food inventory system, knowledge of the state bidding and purchasing processes; Demonstrated knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on strong database skills and spreadsheet processing (Excel or similar), experience with managing budgets and operations. Ability to establish and maintain successful and effective relationships with a diverse and multicultural clientele.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, or Culinary Arts, ServSafe certification, HACCP certification, experience operating an electronic cash register and exchanging debit card tenders, experience with web-based time management systems. Experience with retail, grocery, or prepackaged food merchandising.
