Description of Work Unit

The Lory Student Center Environmental Services team member is a full-time 9-month Hourly position in Operations, within the Lory Student Center (LSC) and the Division of Student Affairs. The Lory Student Center Environmental Services team member provides support of visionary leadership for the department, empowering space for engagement and fostering a culture of belonging in support of multiple and intersecting identities of staff, customers, and guests. The Lory Student Center Environmental Services team member executes the department's strategic plans centering on diversity, equity, and inclusion, upholds department values, provides clear communications, and assists with inventory management by exhibiting effective and efficient use of supplies and tools. This position develops relationships and collaborates with the Environmental Services team members, Leads, Supervisor, Manager, Director, and Executive Director, and other Lory Student Center and CSU departments as needed.

As a member of the LSC Environmental Services team, The Lory Student Center Environmental Services team member contributes to the vision and leadership of the LSC Operations Department; implementation of LSC strategic department goals and policies and procedures for departmental tasks, service functions, and departmental operations with a focus on creating an inclusive environment.

Position Summary

A Lory Student Center Environmental Services Team member is also tasked with providing a safe and clean working and learning environment for students, staff, and University guests by responding to the daily cleaning and maintenance of Lory Student Center facilities with a focus on sustainability and customer services.

Position Expectations:
  • Seeking a self-motivated, flexible employee able to shift priorities based on customer needs/requests
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member
  • Work Hours: May work up to 40 hours/week
  • Schedule: Work hours would be between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.
  • This temporary employment opportunity may work for up to 9 months.

Position Minimum Qualifications

There are no minimum qualifications as this position will receive on-the-job training in order to perform job tasks.

Job Duty Category: Facility Maintenance

  • Performs cleaning while maintaining a safe work and learning environment at the LSC areas including outside of the building, restrooms, and the Ramskeller.
  • Greets guests and other users assisting as needed.
  • Handles special projects in an efficient and complete manner as directed.
  • Once proficient performing tasks and utilizing equipment, position may train other employees.
  • Oher duties as assigned
