Single Stop Student Coordinator

The Single Stop Student Coordinator is the first point of contact for PPCC students who need support with basic needs insecurities. The Coordinator is focused on supporting students who are experiencing basic needs insecurities with the specific goal of connecting students with the appropriate campus and community resources. The Coordinator serves an integral role in promoting holistic student success, retention, and ultimately graduation. The Coordinator respects students irrespective of where students are in their journey and positively contributes as a member of the Student Services team.
This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of August 15, 2024.
Multi-year grants are funded based on the fiscal years for the full grant period. However, there is no guarantee that funding is available year after year from the awarding agencies. Employment with the college after each grant funded period is not assured.
Grant funded positions cannot guarantee a payout of leave benefits. Grant funded employees are encouraged to work with their supervisor to schedule and utilize annual leave benefits during each grant period.
Grant funded positions may be eligible for annual increases contingent upon awarded yearly grant budgets and a satisfactory performance evaluation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or closely related field.
- Two years of professional level experience in the social services field. Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; must demonstrate cultural responsivity.
- Three or more years of professional experience in the social services field.
- Two years of professional experience working in a higher education setting with traditional and non-traditional college students.
- Demonstrated experience in public speaking, teaching, facilitating workshops, or small group facilitation.
- Demonstrated experience in program development, analysis, data collection, and assessment.
Salary range is firm $48,000.00 to $50,000.00 annual gross. For full consideration, all application materials must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Applications accepted until position is filled.

Manage student case load in accordance with grant parameters, provide students access to campus and community resources, maintain positive relationships with community agencies and partners, meet with students to identify their needs and to connect them with the appropriate campus and community resources, follow-up with students, support, and provide assistance as needed. Promote Single Stop to the campus community (e.g., workshops, class presentations, meetings).
Perform data collection, tracking, reporting, retention data on students who utilize Single Stop. Complete assessment reports consistent with the requirements of the grant. Maintain confidential records according to college, state, and federal rules, procedures, and regulations.
- Serve as a resource and connector for students who need personal assistance as referred by faculty, student affairs staff, and others.
- Build awareness of the Single Stop platform and importantly, provide individual hands-on support for students to access the programs for which they qualify.
- Assist with educational program development/professional development for faculty and staff around Single Stop, public benefits, food assistance programs, and how participation in these programs can make our students more successful in the classroom.
- Support or administer campus and community-based food programs for qualified students.
- Provide more robust and user-friendly information to students regarding all resources.
- Serve on the college’s behavioral intervention team (BIT) to provide follow-up to students where appropriate.
- Develop expanded relationships within the community, building strong relationships with community resources for help with homelessness, emergency rent assistance, emergency utility assistance, food assistance, physical and mental health care professionals, child care, and any community organizations capable of assisting our students with life’s challenges.
- Assist with the distribution of emergency aid funds as well as determining how federal relief funds can be used to help students with needs related to housing, food insecurity, childcare, transportation, and health through emergency funds as well as with educational expenses through financial aid grants.

- Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to make professional presentations to both small and large groups.
- Excellent written communication skills, including composition of clear, grammatically correct, well-constructed business correspondence.
- Skill in utilizing current student information system.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data to the end of informing practice and meeting or exceeding grant requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work both independently as a self-starter and as a high-functioning part of a team.
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse body of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Solid computer skills, including word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications; fluent in internet use and navigation.
