Job Summary

The Department of Social Sciences at Clayton State University is seeking applicants for a Lecturer of Public Administration to begin in August 2022. This is a non-tenure position with year-to-year renewal. Area of specialization is in Public Administration. Preference will be given to a candidate who can offer Public Administration courses in Information Technology, Budgeting, Finance/Economics, and Program Evaluation. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can also instruct courses in Policy Analysis, State and Local Government, Global Administration, and American Government. The position requires 30 semester hours of seated and online graduate/undergraduate teaching per year, and the candidate must have a Ph.D. in-hand before August 2022. A Ph.D. with an MPA, a Doctor of Public Administration, or an Ed.D. in Leadership with an MPA will be strongly considered. Successful candidates may be required to teach classes that meet during non-standard (early morning, evening) work hours and/or at the Henry County or Fayette/Peachtree City instructional sites.

Candidates should have evidence of superior teaching, a research agenda, as well as experience working with diverse student and community populations. The mentoring of graduate majors in Public Administration is an essential responsibility.

Ph.D. in Political Science or Doctor of Public Administration or Ed.D. in Leadership with MPA
