Job Profile Summary:

Reporting to the Agile PMO Director, you will be accountable for overseeing strategic initiatives through to delivery, leading and mentoring a team of project and program managers, and acting as a thought partner to peers and leaders within the Agile PMO. This is the role for you if you are deeply passionate about influencing change through cross-functional program management, high-level thinking, and on-the-ground execution. You should be a self-starter, have the courage to make tough priority calls, and the vision to drive organizational transformation. This position will close internally on 8/11/21.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution.
  • Engage with executives to facilitate data-driven and strategic program prioritization decisions, and drive initiative implementation to maximize value delivery to our learners and faculty.
  • Partner with other Agile PMO leaders to develop scaled agile best practices.
  • Participate in evangelization and training across the organization to drive improved outcomes.
  • Guide project and program managers to effectively coordinate organizational initiatives to drive on-time delivery.
  • Ensure escalated risks and impediments are addressed and mitigated or resolved quickly.
  • Provide thought leadership, mentorship, and training support to project and program management staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Manages a team of professionals. Manages the work of assigned employees and/or supervisors who generally exercise some latitude and independence in their assignments.
  • Ensures proper training and development of team members, and actively participates in hiring, firing, and promotion decisions. Conducts performance reviews and recommends salary reviews.
  • Manager others to deliver results by championing a culture of trust and accountability, and through consistent application of agile and program management practices.
  • Primarily achieves goals through leading a team.
Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or other relevant discipline
  • A minimum of 7 years experience leading projects of increasing size and complexity
  • A minimum of 3 years leading a team
  • Track-record of effectively managing teams to complete time-sensitive, large-scale projects with minimal guidance
Department-Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Experience with waterfall, agile and lean, and DevOps methods and principles

Advanced Project Management or Agile certifications preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Jira and other management tools

Experience developing and tracking program/project progress through KPIs and metrics

Experience managing resource allocation, change and impediment resolution

Strong technical acumen and ability to understand engineering, infrastructure, and security concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or other relevant advanced degree

Experience with SAFe, Scrum-at-Scale or other enterprise agile framework

Track record of effective change management and organizational transformation

Ability to define, articulate and achieve organizational vision for department of Program/Project Management

5+ years of leading a team

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
