The Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University, located in Conway, South Carolina, is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented academic professional to serve as Graduate Program Manager to begin October 1, 2021.
The Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences seeks to recruit and retain a diverse community of scholars. We are building a College of teachers, scholars, and academic professionals who will serve as mentors for our diverse student body, and who have a demonstrated commitment to underrepresented communities as well as the academic success of all of our students. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to graduate student success and to diversity, equity, and inclusion across all academic programs.
The Graduate Program Manager will manage the graduate student life-cycle, from recruitment to graduation, while promoting all graduate programs in the Spadoni College. Duties will include, but are not limited to: assist with advisement of current and incoming students; assist program coordinators/department chairs with logistics for comprehensive exams and/or other capstone experiences (e.g., thesis, final project, internships); publicize program(s) by creating, updating and distributing publicity and marketing materials (e.g., posters, viewbooks, advertising copy, brochures, web listings, etc.) in conjunction with Spadoni College staff, the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, and the Office of Admissions; ensure accuracy of printed and online materials and information about the programs (graduate catalog, department materials, program website, etc.); coordinate and assist with recruitment of new students, including representing the College's graduate program(s) at CCU-sponsored recruitment events, and at other local and regional graduate fairs in conjunction with the Office of Graduate Studies; collaborate with Spadoni College faculty/staff and the Office of Graduate Studies to manage prospective student inquiries; communicate with applicants in various stages of application process; correspond and meet with prospective students and applicants during the academic year and summer, and coordinate their on-campus visits within the College and/or department (e.g., faculty interviews, lab tours, meetings with current students, etc.); assist students with the transition from application to matriculation; communicate with winners of assistantships/scholarships; coordinate with Office of Graduate Studies to complete necessary paperwork for assistantships and scholarships; work with department chairs and program coordinators to provide information to graduate assistants, including professional development opportunities, necessary paperwork, etc.; correspond with Graduate Studies Office regarding active students as needed; and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and experience working with undergraduate and graduate students is required. A master's degree is preferred.

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree. Experience working with undergraduate and graduate students.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skills; attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders; organization and human relations skills; proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Applications software, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; the ability to work well in a diverse environment; communicate regularly with the Office of Graduate Studies, the ability to communicate with students, parents, and academic departments; technology proficiency with word processing, proficiency with the Datatel student information system, and electronic messaging; the ability to multitask and meet deadlines; mature, professional attitude; tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive situations; maintain confidentiality; flexibility as a team member with willingness to do everything to achieve the division's goals; strong work ethic and commitment to student development are essential; understanding importance of positive approach to student development; skills in the management/analysis of graduate programs; the ability to collaborate with all graduate level programs and ability to facilitate processes which are relevant and meaningful to all areas; and knowledge of academic advising and processes involved in advising students pursuing a graduate degree in various programs.
