Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Responsible for oversight of assigned staff and daily oversight of pre-and/or post award grant actives for an assigned portfolio. Creates financial reports, invoices, statements, and analyzes expenditures for compliance with budget, policies, and guidelines. Coordinates the correction and adjustment of entries. Reviews and approves entries and reconciles accounting information to the approved budget. Assist Principal Investigator (PI's) with proposal development and submission.
- Manages and supervises assigned department staff
- Assists faculty in all phases of the development of grant and contract proposals, including preparation of detailed budgets
- Ensures compliance with all sponsor guidelines and deadlines and KSU policies
- Obtains and/or provides institutional components of proposals and performs administrative validation on all proposal elements
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and all policies and award regulations
- Advises on allowable expenditures per award terms and conditions
- Interacts regularly with and provides high quality customer service to faculty members conducting sponsored research
Bachelor's degree form an accredited institution of higher education
Five (5) years of experience in the management and/or administration of externally sponsored activity within a university setting, including designation as certified research administrator.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Research Administrator (CRA) strongly preferred: demonstrated equivalent knowledge acceptable
Experience with a non-profit institutions or hospitals is acceptable
Experience with Cayuse a plus
Experience using electronic grants management systems
Experience using project management software to organize workflow a plus
Experience with Access and PowerPoint a plus
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Knowledge of federal grant regulations (2 CFR 200) preferred
Knowledge of federal grant proposal and award policies and regulations
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
