Full-Time Faculty: Psychology (Tenure-Track)
The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Social/Personality Psychology or related field to begin August, 2022. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, an ability to maintain a productive research agenda, actively engage in university service, and demonstrate a strong appreciation for the University's student-centered mission. The Department is especially interested in candidates with research programs that focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, culture, gender, race, ethnicity or other historically marginalized or under-researched populations. Preference will be given to candidates who will involve undergraduates in their research and can teach courses such as social psychology, personality, research design/statistics, introduction to psychology and to create new courses related to the listed research foci. The teaching load is 4/4, however tenure track faculty are automatically eligible for a 4/3 load.
Ph.D. in Social/Personality Psychology preferred; a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field is required. College level teaching experience and ability to obtain extramural funding are also preferred.
The Psychology programs at Sacred Heart University provide students with a basic foundation in the scientific study of human behavior. The Psychology department is the largest undergraduate program at the university. The department serves approximately 500 full-time and 50 part-time psychology majors. Our accomplished Psychology faculty provide students with an excellent foundation in research methodology and a broad exposure to many different areas of psychology.
