Augustana University Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2022. Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required by August 2022.

Successful applicants will demonstrate strong commitment to excellent teaching in a liberal arts environment and to mentoring undergraduate students, including in advising, research and pre-professional clinical experience. Candidates should have clinical training. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate Clinical/Counseling courses such as Abnormal Psychology or Theories of Counseling and Psychotherapy, Introductory Psychology or Lifespan Human Development, and one or more specialized courses such as::

  • Behavioral Neuroscience
  • Substance use and addiction
  • Multicultural Psychology
  • Racial and ethnic minority mental health
  • Forensic Psychology

Teaching load is 3 classes in Fall and Spring and 1 course in January term.

  • graduate school transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)

  • a statement of teaching philosophy (course syllabi and evaluations are also welcome if available)
  • a research statement that describes anticipated research activities for the next 3 years and addresses how you plan to involve undergraduate students in that research
  • at least three letters of recommendation
