The College of Agricultural Sciences is looking for a customer-focused IT Consultant/Team Leader to join the Information Technology team. This leader will serve as an integral member of the Ag IT Leadership team and promote a culture that is conducive to building effective relationships among diverse team members. They will manage the daily operations of one arm of the consulting team, lead department projects and provide consulting services to faculty and staff.

LEADERSHIP TEAM MEMBER: The Ag IT Leadership team consists of the IT Director, Associate Director and Team Leads from the Support, Consulting and Systems & Infrastructure teams.Each leadership team member is expected to represent their respective team's perspective and collaborate to influence strategic decisions, projects, and initiatives to best support the information technology needs of the College.The leadership team is responsible for ensuring the actions of their respective teams align with strategic themes and values of Ag IT and support all aspects of the College of Ag Sciences mission -- teaching, research, and service.

CONSULTING TEAM LEADER: The Ag IT Consulting Team is currently comprised of nine talented and dedicated IT consultants that work closely with their assigned departments to advise faculty and staff on the use of technology for teaching, research and extension. This leader, focusing on a subset of the consulting team, will be responsible for providing guidance in prioritizing and carrying out consulting services consistently across the College. The leader will be responsible for the coaching, mentoring, evaluating and ongoing professional development of staff.

CONSULTING: Ag IT consultants serve as the primary liaison between Ag IT, college faculty, staff and graduate students. The consultants develop and maintain a deep understanding of their client's work and unique technology needs, research and help to implement solutions to meet current and future needs, assist with root cause analysis of technical problems and regularly collaborate with Ag IT and University IT staff.

PROJECT MANAGER: As part of the Ag IT team, this position will serve as project manager for small, medium and/or large-scale IT projects, leading members from each of the Ag IT teams (Support, Consulting and Systems & Infrastructure). Collaboration with IT partners across the University is also common.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
