The Risk Management Department in the Smeal College of Business is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant. The Administrative Support Assistant will be a detail-oriented and organized individual who will provide direct administrative and professional support. This position will perform complex tasks with minimal supervision. The Administrative Support Assistant is responsible for general office activities including, but not limited to: answering phones, greeting visitors and providing department and College information, copying of articles, exams, and syllabi, and assisting as needed. The position is also responsible for arranging travel/accommodations for visiting guest speakers, which also includes room reservations and processing expense reports; assisting faculty members with course administration, reserving rooms, and their exams; managing student evaluations of faculty (SRTEs) for the department, as well as maintaining office hours for our faculty; recruiting, hiring, and coordinating proctors for all exams within the department; overseeing the department's work study office assistants; assisting with the drop/add process and providing accurate information about the Risk Management major; overseeing the Legal Environment of Business (LEBUS) minor, which includes managing the process of students applying to the minor, approving them for the minor, and communicating clearance to graduate; assisting with the budget, including completing purchases for faculty, reconciling purchasing card charges, maintaining balances on faculty research and endowment budgets, processing cash advances for research studies, travel expense reports and other various financial forms; serving as backup to the Administrative Support Coordinator; and performing other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess: the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with attention to detail and ability to prioritize, excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. This position typically requires a high school diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Preference may be given to a candidate with experience in SIMBA (SAP S/4HANA), Concur, LionPath, CollegeNet, and WorkLion. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
