JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (CI) is searching for an Instructor of Education to teach one section of LLED401, Teaching Writing in the Elementary School Classroom for the Fall semester, 2021. The section meets on Thursdays, 8 - 11 am. Instruction will be in person. Job responsibilities include providing instruction for one section of LLED401 and participating in scheduled literacy block instructor meetings. Instructors of LLED401 follow a prescribed master course syllabus and use adopted textbooks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for adapting previously prepared instructional materials for the section and for planning engaging discussions and activities that will deepen student content knowledge during each class period. The person will also be required to support implementation of the student learning outcomes, class procedures, and grading policies provided to students at the beginning of the semester. Keeping accurate records of students` attendance and grades and working collaboratively with other LLED instructors are required of this position. Qualified candidates should have the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor`s degree in teaching is required.
- A Master`s degree in education with a focus on literacy learning, curriculum and instruction or related field is preferred.
- Classroom teaching experience in preK-12 settings is required.
- Familiarity with course management systems and the ability to use these effectively.
