The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing the long-term marketing & communication vision for Allen’s brand, which promotes its unique position in the marketplace. Responsibilities include planning, development, and implementation of all Allen University’s marketing strategies and marketing communications, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services in the area of marketing and communications. Directs the efforts of the marketing and communications staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the University.

Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications
  • Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision, and identity of Allen University.
  • Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing and communications program that will enhance the Allen University image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications.
  • Manage the strategic and creative design of Allen University marketing and communications activities and materials including:
    • Website, Social Media, video production,
  • Ensure articulation of Allen University’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the institution, and assure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external. Uphold protocol to ensure a uniform “house style” (uniform fonts, logos, pictures).
  • Coordinate the appearance of all University print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
  • Understands, appreciates, and articulates the mission of Allen University; and has a desire and ability to work collaboratively with varied constituencies, including vice presidents, department chairs, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications, website management, and social media content creation and management.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, Apple Keynote, database management, and page layout including experience with Adobe Creative Suites and MS Office product and other general-purpose tools.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations with demonstrated success
  • Master’s degree in journalism, marketing, and/or public relations preferred.

Base salary of $43,00 000-50,000.00 and benefits are commiserated with education and experience
