What you will do:

Work independently to provide high-level, front-line comprehensive event coordination and project, administrative, and account support, to Career Services, Public Services, and Clerkships at Cornell Law School. Duties include the following:

  • Plan and execute events and programming, both in-person and virtual.

  • Work with student-led Moot Court Board to coordinate three annual internal moot court competitions and student participation in external moot court competitions. Lead regular meetings with the Board.

  • Work with student-led Public Interest Law Union to coordinate annual Cabaret fundraiser to support Public Interest Fellowship program.

  • Use Asana (project management software) to administer events and staffing.

  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors, develop and distribute marketing materials for events.

  • Process recommendation letters, maintain data, generate reports, and post job openings.

  • Document and monitor budget accounts and expenditures. Present budget spreadsheets to department head and staff.

  • Provide website maintenance, and build and upload content for website.

  • Coordinate other large projects, as assigned by career advising deans.

What we need:

  • Associates Degree and 2-4 years of experience, or equivalent.

  • Ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, handling multiple tasks with differing deadlines, and to prioritize work on projects happening simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with organizational, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong service orientation, commitment to collaboration and innovation, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to interact well with diverse populations.

  • Must be able to handle high-volumes of work during peak periods, and resolve problems using sound judgment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and electronic communications.

We'd prefer a Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience, or equivalent. Proficiency in word processing, website maintenance, and event coordination. Experience with Asana, WordPress, and procurement and accounting systems. Ability to multi-task and be flexible with changing priorities.
