Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary
Coordinates and implements outreach programming on disability related topics and provides transitional services navigating the college experience. Provides academic coaching and mentoring to students registered with SDS on student success skills such as time management, note-taking strategies; etc. and serves as the Advisor for the student organization ABLE.

Responsibilities
    1. Coordinates outreach programming for the university and community partners
    2. Creates and presents disability awareness presentations for faculty, staff, and community
    3. Serves as liaison with community partners, including high schools to implement services and programs to assist in the meaningful engagement of students and aid in their transition into college
    4. Consults with high schools, colleges and other agencies to implement transition services and programs for students with disabilities once accepted to KSU
    5. Develops and provides individual and group workshops on a variety of transition topics
    6. Assists students with accessing on campus and off campus resources
    7. Assists students seeking on-campus housing accommodations and serves as the point of contact for accommodated housing issues and concerns
    8. Serves as the advisor for ABLE Student Organization
    9. Oversees and manages the ABLE and SDS SABAC budget
    10. Requests SABAC funding for both SDS and ABLE as well as provide appropriate budget reports
    11. Conducts academic coaching and mentoring to students registered with SDS
    12. Teaches appropriate behavior and academic skills to students with various disabilities such as ABI, Learning Disorders, ADHD and Autism
    13. Provides one-on-one and group academic coaching for students
    14. Provides appropriate referral to campus and community resources
    15. Maintains records, compiles information for reports on services provided
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a concentration in higher education, psychology, disability services, rehabilitation, counseling or related field

Required Experience
One (1) year of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
National Certified Counselor (NCC) and/or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and/or relevant professional credentials

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree with a concentration in higher education, disability services, counseling, rehabilitation, counseling or related field

Preferred Experience
Experience with coordinating and implementing outreach programming on disability related topics and academic coaching

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
