Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Graduate Programs (80130)

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid with oversight from the Associate Director of Financial Aid for Online Programs, this role is responsible for assisting students and families with all processes associated with financial aid for non-traditional students and applicants.

Essential Functions

  • Assist the Financial Aid leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Manage the Nurse Faculty Loan Program for a large student population, keeping track of funds spent and reporting to NFLP Project Director. Conduct entrance counseling and Promissory Note process sessions via Zoom.
  • Contribute as a member of the Online Financial Aid Team and the Center for Student Services, assisting colleagues with high volume processing during peak times. Manage a small caseload for the online team.
  • Manage all aspects of a student financial aid caseload, including, but not limited to counseling students and families, performing federal need analysis, application verification, awarding and outreach for bachelor completion programs and on-campus graduate and doctoral programs.
  • Perform Return of Title IV (R2T4) Funds calculations with strong attention to modular registration.
  • Participate in Regis College functions and represent Regis at on- and off-campus events.
  • Present workshops and give presentations.
  • Travel to satellite campuses in Massachusetts.
  • Remain current on all federal and state regulations and best practices.
  • Certify alternative loans and stay up to date on program rates and terms through research of lenders.
  • Assist with financial literacy programs.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend professional meetings and seminars to remain abreast of current regulations.
  • Update the departmental website.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Additional Information


  • Bachelor's degree and two to four years of related experience with online students highly preferred.
  • Ability to uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse learning environment.
  • Ellucian Colleague experience and Zoom capability for long distance student meetings.
  • Experience counseling and monitoring registrations of graduate and non-traditional students.
  • Strong front-facing customer service orientation and commitment.
  • Knowledge of financial aid regulations, policies, procedures, and student financial aid need analysis.
  • Ability to recognize university priorities and work cooperatively to support their accomplishment.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop relevant and realistic plans and recommendations.
  • Leadership, planning, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to establish positive relations for the University and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • May require an alternate schedule and occasional nights and weekends.
  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
  • Regularly uses computer keyboard, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
  • More than half of time spent in normal office setting.
