The Cornell Institute for Public Affairs has an immediate opening for an administrative assistant to support admissions and student services.

The Cornell Institute for Public Affairs (CIPA) trains future leaders in the field of public affairs to address the world's most complex public policy challenges with an interdisciplinary, residential Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree and an online Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) degree program.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will draw on your strong administrative and customer service skills to support graduate admissions and student services. You will ensure a positive applicant and student experience, working closely with College and CIPA leaders to:

  • Develop and enter class schedules, room and classroom assignments and exam schedules
  • Interact directly with applicants and assist with updating and tracking applications and application documents
  • Update and distribute CIPA course guide, program handbook, and maintain Courses of Study catalog.
  • Administer online faculty and TA course evaluations
  • Facilitate the faculty and student disability accommodation process
  • Coordinate candidate visits to campus

Qualifications and Attributes

Our ideal candidate will have an associate's degree and at least 4 years of experience. In addition to strong interpersonal and customer service skills, confidentiality and sound judgment will be required. The coordination of multiple tasks involves a high attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
