The Maintenance Specialist is an entry level maintenance position in the Housing Maintenance Department. It is a three year training program that culminates in the successful candidate becoming a Certified Maintenance Technician. For the first three years of this program the position is considered restricted. At completion of the training program the Certified Maintenance Technician will no longer be considered restricted. This will reflect completion of 33 training courses and three years with the organization. Salary will be adjusted at the end of each year of training if successful.
High School Diploma
Ability to take classes online and complete specified course work, independently and
Ability to successfully complete training program and receive certification as a Maintenance Technician.
Must maintain and meet the requirements of the Apprenticeship Program Agreement.
Working knowledge of maintenance methods; maintenance materials, tools and procedures; maintenance safety practices. Demonstrated experience and good mechanical skills in areas such as electricity, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Working knowledge of computers. Previous experience maintaining food service equipment.
Salary starting at $36,000.
The successful Candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check and driving check.
