HFC presents an opportunity for an Applications Systems Analyst

The Applications System Analyst is responsible for planning, designing and implementing information systems. Performs encoding, testing, debugging and installation activities as necessary. Works with organizational end users to clarify current operating procedures and communicate program objectives. Relies on established guidelines and instructions to perform daily job functions. Works under general supervision and usually reports to a project leader or manager.

  • A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Microsoft applications and operating systems including Office, Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012
  • MS SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019 Database Systems
  • Database and application development methodologies.
  • Programming technologies including Envision BASIC, UniData Paragraphs, and PowerShell.
  • Query reporting tools including SQL, UniQuery, or similar reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with large ERP databases.
  • Knowledge of and expertise with Ellucian Colleague applications systems.
  • Experience resolving functional and technical issues related to an ERP system.
  • Experience working with higher education administrative offices.
  • Document Imaging experience a plus.
  • The highest level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups.
  • Ability to work effectively with end-users and understand their technical and operational needs and translate them into viable technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Strong ability to exercise a high degree of accurate and independent professional judgment.
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and be both flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Provides users with technical support for the College's ERP systems, with an emphasis on Enrollment Services such as Registration, Admissions, & Assessment.
  • Serves as primary support for Ellucian Colleague and Ellucian Student Self Service modules.
  • Serves as primary support for Enrollment Services.
  • Serves as backup support for Financial Services and Human Resources.
  • Serves as backup support for the password reset helpdesk service,
  • Serves as backup support for Ellucian Colleague user account maintenance.
  • Evaluates, tests, configures, maintains, tunes, and troubleshoots application programming within the Colleague system.
  • Evaluates, configures and tests vendor software updates to Ellucian Colleague and Self-Service systems.
  • Follows established procedures for process customizations and development, including documenting and obtaining user approval on modifications and/or process results.
  • Consults with users to identify and analyze computer support needs.
  • Develops and recommends specifications for new applications and proposed changes to existing applications on the administrative systems.
  • Assists Data Base/Research Analyst with writing of technical and user documentation as pertains to the administrative systems.
  • Maintains familiarity with new technology standards and how each may be applied to the future growth and development of the services provided by the Ellucian Colleague data base system.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates issue/solution documentation in Ellucian Customer Portal.
  • Conducts training on accessing/utilizing computer resources and applications.
  • Participates in project design and project planning processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
