Position Highlights

Financial Services is seeking a highly qualified, enthusiastic, positive, team player to join its Communications team. The Communications Assistant (Writing and Editing Assistant II) works closely and cooperatively with all Financial Services departments to ensure information is effectively and efficiently communicated. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with strong grammar, writing and editing skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist
    the Communications Manager in the coordination of day to day communications
  • Track incoming requests for communications,
    training, website, design, and other; documenting delivery dates to assist team
    with setting priorities
  • Translate technical information and
    financial verbiage into content that can be understood by a non-technical
  • Following the Financial Services Editorial
    Style Guide, develop, edit, and assess written material for communications such
    as emails, presentations, and web pages
  • Work closely with colleagues within and
    outside of the department to ensure that communications are delivered in a
    manner that serves the Financial Services' clients most effectively
  • Maintain content on department web pages
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school
    diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience
  • Minimum of three years
    of relevant experience
  • Experience with
    basic computer programs and systems (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point,
    SharePoint, website updates, and e-mail management programs)
  • Experience writing
    for websites and other electronic communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience
  • Experience with diversity issues and the delivery of programs and services
  • Experience with University of Arizona systems, procedures, and business rules
  • Experience with working closely and effectively with diverse constituencies, departments, organizations, and audiences
  • Experience working in a financial environment and familiarity with financial and purchasing terminology
  • Experience with development and implementation of strategic communication and branding plans, including current concepts, principles, methodologies, and best practices
