Procurement Services seeks a dynamic, hardworking, highly skilled professional for the job of Grants and Contracts Administrator 3. This position will report to the Contract Manager, as well as serve as the primary contact in the absence of the Contract Manager.

This position will perform work activities in a large volume, fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, modifying and negotiating contracts

  • Negotiating complex contracts received by Procurement Services in accordance with University guidelines

  • Reviewing and modifying liability language for other contracting units

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Experience reviewing, modifying and negotiating contracts

  • Self-management skills and flexibility, including the ability to prioritize among a large number of responsibilities

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member, to multitask and respond professionally in challenging situations

  • Strong attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience identifying and resolving contract-related issues by collaborating with key stakeholders within an organization

  • Ability to communicate with various internal University offices, including but not limited to: the Office of General Counsel, the Office of Sponsored Programs, Applied Research Lab, Office of Risk Management and University Real Estate

  • Experience with drafting contracts

  • Experience with giving presentations

  • Familiarity with and ability to communicate risk mitigation and contract related issues to effectively represent Procurement Services throughout the University by providing training, serving on committees, as needed

  • Making decisions on complex requests from employees based on established University guidelines and protocols
