Director of Career Development and Internships
Centenary College of Louisiana seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Career Development and Internships. The Director is a key leader for the College’s experiential Trek program, which includes a career experience as a graduation requirement. The Director builds relationships with students, proactively working to prepare graduating seniors for the processes of seeking employment, admittance to programs of postgraduate study, or another intentional opportunity or pathway.
The Director of Career and Internships supports students in identifying their interests, talents, passions, and vocational opportunities and works proactively to support the successful transition of Centenary students and graduates from college to profession, with particular attention to capstone and internship experiences. The Director provides advice, assistance, and support to facilitate employer connections, graduate school admissions, and professional commencement, working in close coordination with faculty.
The Director reports to the Provost and Dean of the College and works closely with academic departments and faculty to provide relevant and engaging coursework, workshops, online content, and one on one support for students. The Director also collaborates with Institutional Research to gather, analyze, and report both quantitative and qualitative data related to student and graduate outcomes and program effectiveness.
A Master’s degree in a relevant field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with progressive experience in career counseling/related experience and/or experience with a selective, residential liberal arts college. The successful candidate can begin immediately, but no later than August 2021.
