JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The newly formed Bisanz lab at the Pennsylvania State University, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (University Park, PA) is looking for Postdoctoral Scholars to help dissect the human gut microbiome. Using multi-omics, synthetic communities, and gnotobiotic animal models, we will seek to understand how microbiota interactions with diet, drugs, and pathogens conspire to shape human health.

The ideal candidates will have a Ph.D., MD, or equivalent, with relevant training in at least one field related to microbiology, immunology, microbial ecology, biochemistry, and/or bioinformatics. Expertise in anaerobic microbiology and/or experience with R, Python, or Bash is preferred but not necessary. Applicants should have a demonstrated track record of productivity, be highly self-motivated, and be enthusiastic to work both individually and as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team.
