Reporting to the Director, The Lighthouse Program, the Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating needs-based programming, outreach and training related to primary prevention and risk reduction of interpersonal violence for a campus of over 34,000. S/he coordinates campus and community support services to ensure that survivors have access to care and assistance navigating the University system. The Coordinator must possesses a deep appreciation for a collaborative care model and a commitment to advancing the divisional priorities of quality, inclusion and access, mattering and belonging.

  • 50% Facilitate delivery of direct student support services through the Lighthouse Program, providing confidential care, coordinating support services and accommodations, and assisting with the navigation of the reporting process.
  • 20% Recruit, train, motivate, and advise Lighthouse Advocates who also provide direct student support services.
  • 10% Plan, facilitate and evaluate culturally sensitive health education presentations related to healthy relationships and interpersonal violence prevention, based on students’ needs, interests, developmental stage and learning style; teach in both curricular and co-curricular settings.
  • 10% Implement large, campus-wide health promotion events related to healthy relationships and interpersonal violence prevention, incorporating the support and involvement of campus partners, student organizations, and residential living groups. Develop related content for engaging health communication campaigns and educational materials, including contributing information to share on the departmental website and multiple social media platforms.
  • 10% Lead program initiatives as assigned by supervisor. Participate in quality improvement and assessment activities; identify campus trends, examine in light of aggregate data and share data broadly with campus partners to inform practice. Represent the Student Health Center on task groups and committees. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's of Public Health, Health Education, Community Health, or related degree.
  • 2 Years Experience in pedagogy, health education, curriculum and behavioral change and/or student development theories; multimedia communications, research methodologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's of Public Health, Health Education, Community Health, or related degree.
  • 2 years of full-time professional experience in a capacity related to the duties to be performed.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH)
  • Special or Physical Qualifications (if applicable):
  • Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities, this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.
  • Ability and willingness to work some evening and weekend hours.
