Our Team:

Our Technology Services team plays a critical role in the success of our College by providing the essential technology and systems required to fulfill our mission. This team identifies, implements, and supports appropriate technology solutions and services needed to exceed the expectations of our customers and stakeholders. In doing so, our Technology Services team collaborates with stakeholders to leverage technology as an engine for innovation, transformation, and differentiation.

This Position:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Instructional Technologies, the Audiovisual and Facilities Events Manager serves as the primary point of contact for the technology and events ecosystem at the Breazzano Family Center for Business Education, a key facility of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. This position manages and coordinates audiovisual and event support for all classes and events scheduled in the building. In addition, they partner with the Building Coordinator to ensure that all Breazzano facilities are kept safe, clean, comfortable, and in good repair.

The Audiovisual and Facilities Events Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all audiovisual support needed for classes, meetings, and events held within the building and will monitor events to ensure customer needs are met and expectations exceeded. Working with the AV team, the incumbent will hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student AV staff.

Although the position will primarily be located in the Breazzano Family Center, this role is part of the SC Johnson College IT team that supports the entire SC Johnson College of Business. As a result, partnering/collaborating with team members and assisting other facilities as needed is a significant component of the role. Further, this position will collaborate with the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business Information Technologies team to provide second-tier Help Desk services within the building.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

  • Previous experience with audiovisual, video conferencing, and computing environments.

  • Experience in overseeing facilities operations.

  • Previous supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules.

  • Well-developed troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills needed to develop standard operating processes to ensure that classes/events have a very high success rate.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills needed to build a positive working relationship with faculty, students, staff, and external clients while, professionally, being able to hold others accountable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TV Background with technical director (TD), director, or master control experience desirable but not required.

  • General technical and vendor training, personal study and/or on-the-job experience.

  • Experience with performing cost analysis, forecasting and technical writing.

  • Knowledge of television studio control systems, including production switchers, camera control units (CCU), audio mixers/digital sound processors, Cisco video infrastructure and digital video capture.
