Vice President For Student Experience

The Vice President for Student Experience serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and provides strategic leadership
for student engagement, student development, retention, persistence, graduation, career readiness, workforce preparation, and post-graduate
success. The Vice President champions a holistic student experience from enrollment through graduation and lifelong connection while
supporting and advancing the mission, values, and student-centered educational philosophy of Brescia University. The Vice President fosters
an environment that promotes academic excellence, service, leadership, personal growth, respect for human dignity, and community
engagement
Responsibilities are, but are not limited to:
- As a member of the President’s Cabinet serves as the principle
advisor to the President regarding student success, engagement, and student life. - Champion the student journey from matriculation
through graduation, career readiness, workforce engagement, and lifelong alumni connection in collaboration with Institutional Advancement
and Alumni Relations. - Provide leadership, management, strategic direction, policy development, and administrative oversight for
Residence Life, Career Services, Counseling, Campus Ministry, and Student Engagement. - Provide leadership that empowers and develops
staff through appropriate delegation, professional growth opportunities, accountability, and shared responsibility for divisional
success. - Charged with enriching students’ out-of-classroom experience with co-curricular and extra-curricular programs, activities,
and services that complement the mission of Brescia. - Collaborate with Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Athletics, Business
Affairs, Institutional Advancement, and Alumni Relations to enhance student engagement, retention, career outcomes, and lifelong connections
to Brescia University. - Coordinate with Academic Affairs and members of the Retention Committee in developing strategics for early
identification, outreach, and support for students struggling academically. - Manage divisional budgets and staff through long-term
planning that address both fiscal needs for operations and capital improvements, as well as internal goals for strengthening the division
through staff optimization and program development. - Develop partnerships with employers, workforce agencies, alumni, and community
organizations to expand internship opportunities, career pathways, mentoring relationships, and post-graduate success. Collaborate with
Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations to strengthen the transition from student to engaged alumnus/alumna. - Develop career
readiness, internship, experiential learning, and workforce partnerships. - Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state,
accreditation, and institutional requirements. - Evaluate, review, and approve dining and security contracts.
- Support and
advance the mission, values, and heritage of Brescia University and demonstrate a commitment to educating the whole person through
leadership, service, academic excellence, personal development, and community engagement. - Coordinate the Student Life Staff
on-call/crisis response process and provide ongoing oversight and consultation for all student staff and professional staff members
responding to campus emergencies, student hospitalizations, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Demonstrated experience supervising
staff and managing budgets; - Strong communication and collaboration skills;
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning,
organizational leadership, and change management; - Experience developing policies and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and
institutional regulations affecting students; - Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff,
students, governing boards, alumni, and community partners. Demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership, integrity, and shared
governance.
Preference given to candidates with the following additional experience:
- Earned
doctorate; - Experience at a small private institution
- Strong understanding of student development theory and student success
initiatives. - Demonstrated success improving student outcomes and developing employer and community partnerships.
