Department Summary

The Assistant Director of Digital Engagement supports the University's annual giving efforts by planning and executing digital-first outreach that engages alumni and donors and advances philanthropic support for the institution's mission and long-term growth. This role manages a large portfolio of annual giving-level prospects and uses a variety of communication channels to acquire, renew, retain, and upgrade donors at the annual fund level, while reinforcing strong stewardship, recognition, and impact messaging. Working within clearly defined processes and under close supervision, the Assistant Director independently handles day-to-day outreach and problem-solving, analyzes data to inform engagement strategies, and ensures accurate donor information and timely thank-you touchpoints. Through collaboration with peers and the use of compelling storytelling content, this position helps cultivate meaningful donor relationships and ensures the University has the resources necessary to support its priorities and future success.

Position Profile

Plans and executes the University's campaign for annual gift support from all constituents, including alumni. Provides support in stewardship and recognition efforts for annual fund donors. Cultivates relationships with alumni, donors, foundations, and corporations to support the University's mission. Ensures the University has the resources necessary for growth and engages the community to advance its long-term goals.

Level Summary

Performs professional-level work that involves basic, operational problem-solving. Independently resolves day-to-day issues and executes clearly defined tasks. Provides data analysis and informational insights to support decision-making.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None; may assist with training student employees.

Fiscal Responsibilities

No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions.

Problem Solving

Solves routine problems with defined processes and guidance.

Independence of Action

Works under close supervision.

Communication and Collaboration

Collaborates with peers and follows guidance from supervisor.

Physical Requirements

This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and less than 3 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, or similar) and ability to use data to prioritize outreach and track progress

Pay Rate: Target hiring range for this role is $43,888 to $51,377 and the final offer will be commensurate with the candidate's education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position.
