Description
The Department of Residence Life at Simpson College is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as
the Assistant Director of Student Experience. The AD oversees the administration of Fraternity/Sorority and theme housing (approximately 250
residents) and is responsible for developing and supervising 6+ student staff members. The AD serves as one of four on-call professionals
and leads departmental projects such as FSL recruitment, staff training, or selection. The successful candidate will also develop
interpersonal relationships with students through staff leadership, programming implementation, and conducting meetings and
counseling/advising students with individual concerns, as they facilitate the development of an academic and responsible community. The
Assistant Director's main responsibility is within the FSL residential community; opportunities exist to obtain additional/collateral
experience in the Division of Student Development, as desired.

Simpson College is a vibrant four-year private college affiliated with
the United Methodist Church located in Indianola, Iowa. Simpson's full residential community houses over 90 percent of the college's
full-time population of approximately 1200 students. The town of Indianola has a population of around 16,000 and is located 12 miles south
of Des Moines.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field preferred but not required.
  • Previous FSL
    experience required; professional FSL experience preferred
  • The position is 12-month, live-on.
    • Remuneration includes an
      on-campus apartment, laundry, partners and pets permitted, an office separate from living quarters, a meal plan (while school is in
      session), utilities/wired and wireless internet, a competitive salary, and a full benefits package.
