Job Summary
Lead outreach and recruitment for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses
(10KSB) program in Iowa. Develop and execute strategies to attract small business owners into two 12-week cohorts each year and represent
the program across Iowa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The 10KSB program, administered by DMACC in partnership with Iowa’s community colleges,
provides business education, support services, and opportunities to access capital to help small businesses grow. The program serves
approximately 80 business owners annually.
Essential Functions
Design, develop and execute strategies for two annual
recruitment cycles. Lead outreach activities including presentations, information sessions, networking and attending events in the
entrepreneurial ecosystem, and marketing efforts across digital and traditional channels, including social media, direct mail, and website
management. Build and manage referral pipelines to support applicant generation.
Manage the full applicant recruitment process for
each cohort, including follow-up, communication, and applicant support. Maintain and utilize tracking systems to monitor leads, applicant
progress, and partner engagement. Compile data and prepare reports to evaluate recruitment activities.
Develop and maintain
relationships with business, industry, and community partners across Iowa through recruitment plans. Represent the 10,000 Small Businesses
program within the entrepreneurial and business community in Iowa, networking and forming relationships with others who are providing
support and services for small business growth. Collaborate with state and national 10KSM program partners to support initiatives and
curriculum delivery to small and large groups.
Provide support for program operations including alumni events, interviews, cohort
administration, and other programs, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors
Degree in education, business administration, marketing, communications, or related discipline. - Two years experience with outreach,
partnership development, recruitment, promotions, or related experience. - Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including
preparing and delivering presentations digitally and in person to community and industry audiences. - Strong organizational and
time-management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects. - Demonstrated ability to establish and
maintain professional relationships with a wide variety of individuals, organizations and businesses. - Demonstrated knowledge of
current software applications. - Ability to travel throughout the state of Iowa to fulfill outreach responsibilities, including
occasional overnight stays. - Valid Iowa driver’s license, or ability to obtain, with satisfactory driving record.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with small businesses, entrepreneurs, or organizations supporting business
growth; familiarity with small-business development strategies. - Demonstrated experience using social media platforms, digital
communication tools, or marketing strategies to support outreach efforts. - Experience with Salesforce or similar customer
relationship management (CRM) system for tracking applicants, leads, and partner engagement.
