Position Introduction:
The Fire Extinguisher and Safety Equipment Technician will assist the Department of Campus Safety by doing regular equipment safety checks that are critical to the department's success. Conducts recurring visual inspections of all campus fire extinguishers and provides direct oversight of the campus AED program. Removes non-compliant fire extinguishers from service and replaces them with compliant ones. Maintains fire extinguisher inventory and keeps the storage shop organized. Assists AED Site Coordinators to ensure that their AED's are maintained and rescue ready. Assists the Fire Marshal's Office with various safety-based functions and other services provided by the department as needed.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3 years of related experience.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
None
Department Preferences:
- Previous project management experience
- General knowledge of emergency management
- Knowledge of the National Incident Management System
- Previous fire extinguisher or safety equipment maintenance or management experience
- General knowledge of the use of common tools
- Associates Degree
