Marietta
College, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy &
Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Admission. This is an
exciting opportunity for a strategic enrollment leader to join one of Ohio’s most historic and student-centered institutions. As a senior
leader within the Enrollment Management Division, the Director of Admission plays a critical role in shaping and executing a strategic
recruitment and enrollment plan aligned with the College’s mission, goals, and financial sustainability. The successful candidate will have
the opportunity to influence institutional growth, strengthen enrollment outcomes, and contribute to the continued success of a college
recognized for academic excellence, student engagement, and value.
The Director of Admission provides
operational and visionary leadership to the Office of Admission and supports cross-functional initiatives across the enrollment funnel,
including recruitment, yield, marketing, data analytics, and transfer and access pipelines. Working closely with the Vice President for
Enrollment Management and campus partners across Academic Affairs, Athletics, Financial Aid, Student Life, Marketing and Communication, and
Institutional Research, the Director will lead the development and execution of innovative enrollment strategies, leverage data and
technology to inform decision-making, and foster a high-performing admissions team committed to student-centered service and continuous
improvement. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of Marietta College while serving as a visible
ambassador for the institution and its mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Planning
- Assists with the development and execution of a comprehensive undergraduate recruitment plan,
utilizing data-informed decision-making, demographic trend analysis, and market research to drive enrollment growth and diversity. - Partners with the VPEM to develop and assess multi-year enrollment strategies that align with institutional goals, retention
initiatives, and revenue expectations.
- Assists with the development and execution of a comprehensive undergraduate recruitment plan,
- Operational Oversight
- Directs all
aspects of the undergraduate recruitment cycle from inquiry to matriculation, including first-year, transfer, and special populations (e.g.,
adult learners, CCP dual enrollment). - Manages and innovates the College’s Transfer processes and oversees recruitment strategies
specific to transfer students. - Supervises the Tuition Exchange Program, including applicant education, documentation, and
compliance monitoring.
- Supervision and Staff Development
- Provides direct supervision,
coaching, and professional development to the admission team, with particular emphasis on admission counselors. - Fosters a
high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, inclusive excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Divisional Collaboration
- Collaborates with Marketing and Communication, Academic Affairs,
Athletics, Financial Aid, and Student Life to create seamless, student-centered experiences across the enrollment pipeline. - Contributes to the alignment of CRM, AI, and communication strategies to personalize outreach and improve yield.
- Data and Technology Integration
- Leverages CRM systems, analytics tools, and performance dashboards to
monitor progress toward enrollment targets, optimize territory management, and assess ROI on recruitment initiatives. - Collaborates
with the VPEM and institutional research staff to interpret technical and statistical data to support strategic planning, institutional
reporting, and forecasting.
- Institutional Representation and Visibility
- Represents the
College at regional and national conferences, recruitment fairs, and community events, acting as a compelling ambassador of the
institution’s mission, values, and offerings. - Serves on key campus committees and collaborates with faculty and staff on
enrollment-related policies and initiatives. - Acts as the chief admission officer and spokesperson at recruitment and admission
events, and at other venues in the absence of the VPEM.
- Admissions Operations
- Oversees
application review and selection processes, ensuring consistent, holistic, and mission-aligned admission decisions. - Administers and
ensures adherence to institutional admission policies, procedures, and deadlines. - Oversees major admission projects as assigned by
the VPEM.
- Perform other duties as assigned

certifications, or other professional development relevant to enrollment leadership and higher education best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a college/university admissions office with a record of increasing leadership
responsibility. - Proven supervisory experience developing and managing a high-performing, cohesive team.
- Strong acumen with
technology, report writing, and PowerPoint presentations. - Advanced experience with CRM system use, data analytics, and integrated
enrollment marketing is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated success in leading recruitment strategy and achieving enrollment goals in a competitive higher
education environment. - Strong interpersonal, leadership, and change management skills with the ability to motivate and empower
teams. - Expertise in CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, etc.), enrollment analytics, and communication planning.
- Capacity to interpret and present data clearly to stakeholders and use analytics to drive decision-making.
- Excellent verbal,
written, and presentation skills tailored to diverse audiences (students, families, faculty, trustees). - Valid driver’s license and
willingness to travel regionally and nationally as needed.
