Salary/Position Classification
- $225,000 annual, Exempt
- 40 hours per week
- This position will work onsite at UND Grand Forks, ND campus
Purpose of Position
To provide primary care, within scope of said practice, with an emphasis on the prevention of illness, promotion of health and
development of health maintenance to a diverse UND student population. Practice will support student retention and academic success, and
meet standard of care in compliance with professional discipline, and those of Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC)
accreditation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide Quality Patient Care
- Assess and treat patients
- Maintain accurate medical records of patient care with accurate medical and billing codes
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Ensure quality of healthcare provided through participation in quality improvement, peer review
and other accreditation standards - Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to collaborate and coordinate patient care
- Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
- Perform thorough flight physical
examination and review of the pilot’s information and issue medical certificates to civilian pilots. - Maintain AME certification as
determined by the FAA requirements to provide first-class, second-class, and third-class certificates - Consult with patients
regarding FAA certification questions, concerns and interpretation of FAA requested information. - Serve as resource for medical
certification questions for the UND John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences and aviation community.

- Motivated to seek
and lead progressive practice opportunities to enhance service to students - Provide outreach education to the greater UND campus,
(peer educators, student organizations, faculty, etc.) - Collaborate with greater Grand Forks community in public health practices
and initiatives.
Required Competencies
- Ability to communicate
with individuals of diverse backgrounds - Ability to relate well to adolescent and young adult population; offer a sensitive,
non-judgmental attitude - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Experience in the use of an electronic
medical records system - Strong keyboarding skills
Minimum Requirements
- Licensed/Eligible for licensure prior to start date to practice medicine in the state of North Dakota as an MD or DO
- Completion of an accredited residency program (AOA, ACGME)
- American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) Board Certified or
eligible - Have or willing to obtain Minnesota license to practice telemedicine
- Eligible to obtain senior Aviation Medical
Examiner (AME) status through the FAA - Eligible for federal DEA Licensure
- Current or able to obtain CPR certification
within 30 days of hire - Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of current clinical experience in College Health or
Family Practice setting, including experience with sexual health, internal medicine, and urgent care diagnoses - Demonstrated
experience as an Aviation Medical Examiner through the FAA - Mental health experience
- Leadership experience
