Essential Job Duties:
The IT Programmer Analyst Sr. for Student Systems serves as a senior programmer/analyst for the Student Information Systems team and works closely with customers in Enrollment Management, the Graduate School, the Provost's Office, the Cashier's Office, and other units as appropriate to develop, maintain, and support the highly complex environment of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Information System which is used by all students and teaching faculty as well as academic administrators across campus.
The IT Programmer Analyst Sr. is an expert in functional business process analysis and advanced technical solution development and uses this expertise to implement advanced and highly complex software solutions with minimal supervision. This position works with the IT Manager, Project Lead, Team Members, and Functional Offices in order to: evaluate change requests; define functional or technical specifications; develop application code and system integrations; develop and execute unit, system and load test plans; migrate code; provide production support; and perform system maintenance.
As a senior team member, this position also provides senior-level technical or functional guidance and support to more junior members of the team and regularly provides functional and/or technical decision-making with broad and often institution-wide impacts that affect assigned and other systems, students, faculty and staff. This position may also lead initiatives of moderate to high complexity and is expected to interact with leadership positions in customer units to ensure that developed solutions align with business needs.

Minimum Experience/Education:
- Master's degree and at least two years of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor's degree with at least three years' of relevant experience OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical subjects including the ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams within the organization.
- Ability to thoroughly document technical specifications, root cause analysis, and resolutions to technical issues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage assigned project work and support tasks concurrently, to assist management with task assignments, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects.
- Ability to work within both traditional waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
- Ability to follow strict quality control standards and unit/integration test development work to ensure that it meets business requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills with an ability to resolve complex, difficult technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ERP system development or system analysis experience, especially with PeopleSoft systems
- Student Information System experience
- Experience with Oracle SQL
