Position Announcement
The Science Tutor in the Accessibility and Disability Center provides individualized and small-group tutoring in science courses for students registered with the Accessibility and Disability Center. The tutor supports students with a range of disabilities including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and more-by providing patient, adaptive, and inclusive academic assistance designed to build confidence and promote success.
Responsibilities
The Utah Tech University Accessibility and Disability Center promotes access, equity, and inclusion by supporting students with disabilities through accommodations, advocacy, and skill-building. Tutors in the ADC play a vital role in helping students develop academic confidence and achieve their educational goals.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time hourly staff position (hours vary based on student need). Hourly rate of $15/hr. - Create a supportive, respectful, and motivating learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions and communicate regularly with ADC staff regarding student progress or concerns.
- Participate in training on accessibility, disability awareness, and inclusive tutoring practices.
- Uphold confidentiality and the values of accessibility, equity, and inclusion.

Qualifications
Required:
- Proficiency in college-level science coursework (biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, or related fields).
- Strong communication, patience, and empathy when working with students.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
- Previous experience tutoring or teaching science subjects.
- Experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Completion of or enrollment in upper-level science courses with strong academic performance.
