Assistant or Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies

Brescia University is searching for an Assistant or Associate Professor to join the M.S Physician Assistant Studies Program. This is a 12-month full-time faculty member with administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities are, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the PA Program Assessment Committee Chair
  • Demonstrate responsibility for and actively participate in the processes of:
      • developing, reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program,
      • recruiting and selection of applicants for admission to the PA program,
      • teaching and instruction including Physiology and Medical Pathophysiology courses,
      • academic counseling of students and evaluation of student performance,
      • assuring the availability of remedial instruction,
      • designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum, and evaluating the program,
      • Serve as a liaison for instructional faculty,
      • Support the development of supervised clinical practice experience sites,
      • Participate in and support accreditation related activities

Qualifications are:

  • Terminal degree in an appropriate academic field applicable to PA education and/or NCCPA-certified PA
  • Eligible for or currently possess Kentucky PA licensure without a history of negative board action (if applicable)
  • Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical or academic experience; effective communication, time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
