Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Academic Support Specialist provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Humanities. This position plays a key role in advancing the College's academic and outreach missions by coordinating daily operations, supporting academic processes, facilitating communications, and assisting with college-wide events and initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business, technical, or vocational school as might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond high school.

A bachelors degree in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing is an advantage.

Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Academic Support Specialist provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Humanities. This position plays a key role in advancing the College's academic and outreach missions by coordinating daily operations, supporting academic processes, facilitating communications, and assisting with college-wide events and initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day administrative and communication operations for the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Humanities.
- Assist the Dean and Department Chair with academic functions including course schedule preparation, assessment activities, record keeping, and report generation.
- Coordinate logistics and planning for college events, meetings, and special initiatives.
- Develop and maintain internal communication strategies to ensure consistency, accuracy, and engagement across departments.
- Assist with media relations, website updates, and promotional content in coordination with university communications staff.
- Provide secondary support to college specialists in advising, purchasing, and other administrative areas as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong Interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Skills in digital communication technology and the creativity to be able to devise effective communication.
- Two years of experience; however, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience is acceptable, which provides an applicant the listed knowledge, skills, and the capability to perform the essential functions of the job.
