Summary of Position
The Community Programs Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting workforce and educational initiatives that serve justice-impacted individuals, with a primary focus on the Prison Training Program. This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, implementation, and evaluation of multiple workforce and reentry education programs, including the Adult Basic Education Credential, DREAM Initiative, and Ready to Work Academy. Working collaboratively with the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC), community-based organizations, and college departments, the Coordinator ensures effective program delivery, operational efficiency, and alignment with institutional and partner goals.
Key responsibilities include coordinating program logistics and schedules, managing instructional support and contracts, monitoring budgets and compliance, and maintaining accurate data for reporting and evaluation. The Coordinator also builds and sustains relationships with community and correctional partners to strengthen program impact and participant outcomes. This role requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex partnership environments and meet CDOC operational requirements. This position is a full-time, FLSA exempt position with the general hours of Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening or off-campus commitments. Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment and may require travel between campuses.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of non-credit activities that occur at a community college
- Knowledge of college processes for instructor pay, course scheduling, travel, and purchasing
- Knowledge of student information database systems like (Banner9, CampusCE, CRMs)
- Skilled with record keeping, file auditing, and organizing data
- Skills in customer service and relationship management
- Proficiency skill in Microsoft Office Suite, database systems, and basic data management.
- Ability to manage customer expectations and deliver satisfactory training programs
- Ability to coordinate trainers, customers/employers, and students in a training environment
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to track participant data and report on outcomes
- Associate's degree in education, business administration, human services, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
- Two years of experience in program coordination, workforce development, or education/training program support.
- Some previous experience and knowledge working with the correctional/incarceration system
- Must be able to meet CDOC security clearance requirements
- Experience with CampusCE, MS Teams, Banner, or other course registration platforms.
- Knowledge of continuing education, workforce training, or community-based programming.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
