Job Description
The Director of Compliance serves as the School of Nursing's chief compliance officer, responsible for leading a comprehensive, school-wide compliance program that supports the tripartite mission. Reporting directly to the Dean and collaborating closely with senior leadership, this position functions with a high degree of independence and authority, advising on compliance strategy, conducting investigations, and fostering a culture of ethical accountability. This role ensures School of Nursing adherence to federal regulations, accreditation standards, and policies and procedures across both personnel and non-personnel areas-including, but not limited to IRB, HIPAA, FERPA, risk mitigation, human resources and operational compliance. Responsible for planning and executing operational initiatives, including reporting, credentialing, performance management, and accreditation readiness. Functions with a high degree of independence and serves as a member of various leadership teams that plan, implement and evaluate various strategies, programs and services. Acts as a key resource across the school-advising departments, offices, grants, and programs-to ensure consistent and compliant administration of policies, procedures, and human resource related programs align with organizational goals. Serves as a communication link between the School of Nursing and central administration offices in relation to compliance matters.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a master's degree in business administration or related field, with at least ten years of progressive experience in compliance or human resources-including employee relations and investigations-and a minimum of five years supervising personnel. Rank, tenure, and salary are commensurate with experience. This is not a remote position.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification in one compliance area (e.g., CCEP, CPCO, CHC, CRCM, CHRC) and one HR area (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is expected; candidates may obtain these certifications within 12-24 months of hire.
