Examples of Duties
- Manage and submit insurance claims and billing documents accurately and on time
- Monitor reimbursements, denials, and payment trends
- Resolve billing discrepancies and communicate with payers for timely collections
- Maintain compliance with all applicable billing regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with pharmacy and administrative staff to optimize workflow efficiency
- Provide oversight on cashflow for the pharmacy
- All other duties as assigned
- Experience with third-party insurance billing, Medicare/Medicaid, and prior authorizations
- Familiarity with billing codes and reimbursement procedures for pharmacies
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Availability to work at least 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
- Educational background in pharmacy, accounting, business administration, or a related field (Bachelor's required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacy or medical billing
- Proficiency with pharmacy billing software and insurance platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion
