Summary of Position
Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) seeks a part-time Instructor to teach in the Electrical Industrial/Commercial (EIC) program. This temporary position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in accordance with the policies of RRCC and the Colorado Community College System.
Reporting to the EIC Department Chair, the Instructor will provide classroom instruction, student assessment, lesson planning, and participate in departmental activities. Responsibilities include preparing course materials, maintaining accurate grades in D2L and Banner, and engaging students through timely communication. Instruction may occur in a variety of formats-face-to-face, hybrid, or online-and at various times including evenings and weekends. Occasional meetings or trainings may be held outside of scheduled class times.
The ideal candidate will be a Colorado Licensed Electrician with extensive experience in residential and/or commercial electrical construction. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in code requirements, safety practices, wiring methods, switching systems, service installation, and troubleshooting. A minimum of 4,000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last seven years is required to meet CTE credentialing standards.
The instructor must be respectful, student-focused, and clearly communicate expectations while maintaining a professional and inclusive learning environment. A commitment to program goals and student success is essential. Colorado must be the instructor's primary work location, including online instruction.
This exempt position may work up to 28 hours per week for up to nine months, depending on department needs and budget availability.
This position reports to the EIC Department Chair. The work schedule for this position is weekdays, 6:00PM to 10:00PM, at the Lakewood location. It may require hours outside of normal work schedule. Some classes may run online. This position may work up to 28 hours each week and up to 9 months, depending on need and budget availability.

The compensation for this position is $1,177.73 - $1,826.60/credit hour, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt temporary staff position. This position can work up to nine months, based on need and budget availability. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Colorado Licensed Electrician
- Extensive experience applying electrical code requirements in residential and/or commercial construction
- Extensive experience with residential electrical construction including but not limited to: wiring methods and safety considerations; proper branch circuit wiring techniques; single-pole, three-way, and four-way switching; service entrance equipment and installation; and troubleshooting electrical wiring systems.
- Qualifies for post-secondary CTE credential including 4000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years.

- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in a classroom environment and uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
