Job Description

The Lincoln Memorial University-College of Dental Medicine (LMU-CDM) is seeking Clinical General Dentistry Faculty at the LMU-Tower and LMU Community Care Clinics. The position reports to the Dean for Clinical Affairs and is responsible for supervising LMU-CDM students in the Centers for Excellence (CE) to provide care to their patient family

Required Qualifications

D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree Must have knowledge of dental practice operation Must be highly skilled in general dentistry Adaptable and motivated Able to work independently Team oriented Personable Qualifications Skills Required Experience in private practice where dentistry is performed. Experience in a dental teaching environment is preferred

Job Duties
  • Supervise students in the comprehensive care unit to provide comprehensive care to their patient family
  • Maintain Standards of Care and ensure continuity of care for all patients in the Centers for Excellence
  • Participate in clinic quality assurance and continuous quality improvement measures
  • Work on the clinic floor 5 days per week, depending on faculty practice day
  • Assist the staff, faculty, and administration in Knoxville to train the adjunct faculty to achieve clinical calibration
  • Work with the dental assistant(s) and Clinic Care Coordinator and contribute to performance review evaluations in conjunction with the Dean for Clinical Affairs and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs
  • Coordinate with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Students for staff leave (vacation, medical) and clinic floor coverage
  • Complete administrative reports as needed and all LMU-required employee training
  • Track student progress and collaborate with Center for Excellence Attending Faculty and the Dean Clinical Affairs and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs on student deficiencies
  • Assure patient, students, and staff safety and communication
  • Perform dental procedures on patients as needed
  • Serve on committees as assigned
  • Support/participate in an after-hours emergency care program as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean for Clinical Affairs
