Position Summary

La Salle University's Religion & Theology program in the Department of Humanity & Society has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach each semester on an "as needed" basis. In particular, instructors may be needed for REL 100: Religion Matters. Other possible courses taught by adjunct faculty may include: REL 210: The Hebrew Scriptures or REL 220: Catholicism in the Modern World or similar. These courses are generally offered in person, in the daytime.

Essential Duties
  • Teach assigned course(s).
  • Prepare course materials consistent with departmental learning objectives.
  • Provide timely grading and feedback to students.
  • Provide guidance and support to students.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Religion or closely related field.
  • Knowledge and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
  • Previous experience teaching at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D., Th.D., or similar terminal degree in Religion and/or Theology.
  • Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
  • Some classes offered may be in the evenings, on weekends, or online.

This is a pooled position from which Adjunct Instructors will be selected when/if a need arises in the department.
