Position Summary
THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BRAIN SCIENCES at VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY invites applications for a CONTINUING NON-TENURE TRACK POSITION (ASSISTANT TEACHING PROFESSOR) in PSYCHOLOGY starting in August 2026. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related discipline. Area of specialization within the discipline is open, but candidates should be prepared to teach core courses for undergraduate majors (e.g., research methods, statistics) and introductory psychology, as well as courses in their area of specialization. We seek candidates whose teaching and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse students and to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. Applicants with experience and interest in academic advising will be particularly well suited for this position. - Contribute to the department's teaching efforts, establishing skillful classroom teaching and student mentoring. Teaching responsibilities likely will include a range of undergraduate courses including introductory psychology, courses for psychology majors (e.g., research methods; history of psychology), and other undergraduate and graduate course assignments determined by faculty member interests and department/program needs.
- Provide formal and informal academic advisement to students in accordance with department standards. Be an active member of our department, college and university.
