Mail courier and departmental customer service for Central Mail distributing to campus departments and/or students.
Essential Duties:
Assists in the receiving, delivery, and storage of various materials following established standards.
- Receiving, inspecting, recording and logging materials into inventory system.
- Checks invoices against shipments.
- Contacts departments regarding shipments requiring special handling.
- Sorts and forwards deliveries.
- Delivers supplies and/or materials using university vehicles.
- Accepts and signs for orders.
- Prepares bills of lading and arranging for pickup of out-going shipments.
- Maintains filing systems.
- Collects postage due on letters and parcels.
- Sells stamps and prepares various postal forms.
- Maintains student address files and forwarding mail as necessary.
- Makes bank deposits.
- Coordinates permit mailings.
- Assists with delivery of materials and moving/lifting of equipment.
- Loads and/or unloads surplus equipment or furniture from incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Prepares bulk mailings and assists with ordering of materials.
- Runs errands as needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, AND:
- 6 months experience in shipping and receiving.
Skills:
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
- General office skills such as multi-line phone, copying, filing, faxing, and mail
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work independently
Certifications:
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Physical Ability to engage in repetitive motion.
- Lift weight up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent moving, pulling and carrying of non-uniform objects.
- Must be able to determine the condition of items by sight.
- Exposure to extreme temperature changes.
Departmental Preferences:
- USPS mail experience a plus.
