Position Highlights

University Information Technology Services (UITS) under University of Arizona is searching for Business Analyst, Senior that acts as a bridge between business needs and technology solutions. This position contributes to the design, configuration, and maintenance of IT Systems. This position will work with campus users, departments and stakeholders to understand and define IT system needs. The Business Analyst, Senior will also develop, recommend and maintain solutions, and plan for implementation, integration and maintenance of solutions into business process or system design.

The selected team member will report directly to the Manager of Administrative Technology for multiple IT systems and serve as an integral member of our small support team.

Candidates working anywhere in the U.S. may be considered for a remote assignment. If you are selected for this position and are employed to work remotely from outside of Arizona, your overtime exemption status will depend on the laws of the state where you perform your work. For employees working outside of Arizona, you may be hired as an hourly employee in accordance with state laws. A comparable hourly rate range would be: $36.32 - $47.22. These changes would not affect the position duties as outlined.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research
    system functionality that may provide solutions to existing business problems.
  • Lead the planning, testing and implementation of new or modified system
    features.
  • Working
    with the stakeholders to gather detailed requirements.
  • Translate them into
    functional specifications and document them.
  • Understand the current business
    processes and identify problems to determine how to solve them.
  • Create
    and maintain project documentation for related projects, system configuration
    and business process.
  • Develop system design documents for new or revised system
    features.
  • Prepares reports summarizing findings, alternatives and
    recommendations.
  • Lead
    Vendor update installations and testing.
  • Conduct analysis of new features to
    determine impact.
  • Make recommendations for implementation of optional
    features.
  • Work with
    Vendor on support tickets and regular upgrade testing.
  • Confer with vendors
    and other resources to resolve technical questions and problems and consults
    with and advises users in the selection and use of system options.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • General knowledge and use of
    business analysis principles, theories and concepts.
  • Ability to communicate in
    writing and in meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work
    collaboratively in a team and with other teams.
  • Strong organizational and
    time management skills.
  • Knowledge of project
    management best practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree AND Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer Service experience.
  • Experience with the Cornerstone Saba Learning Management System or other learning management systems.
  • Experience with SCORM content creation tools, such as Rise and Storyline.
  • Experience with the Jira, Service Now and MS Teams.
  • IT Project Management experience.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
